Man poses as CIA agent, blackmails girls

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths nabbed a 28-year-old man from Mumbai who would pose as a CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) agent to lure girls and blackmail them after accessing their intimate pictures.
The accused, identified as Prateek Mathur, was nabbed in JP Nagar based on a tip-off. A detailed questioning revealed that Mathur used a spoof CIA webite and forged the contents to create a CIA ID for himself and claimed of bieng a British national working on a secret mission in India.
He trapped girls with such claims and hacked into their e-mail accounts with the help of Keylogger software. After accessing personal data, he would blackmail them, said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abhishek Goel.
The CCB has recovered hundreds of intimate pictures of girls. A case of cheating and impersonation and various other sections of Information Technology Act have been booked against him. Mathur has been taken into custody for further questioning.
